To our guests who come to visit from beyond Montana's borders, and even for the many who come from within the state, we may seem harder to find than our sapphires.

We're not really that well hidden, though.

Gem Mountain is situated in a very accessible area of spectacular natural beauty that is rarely visited or seen by the millions of Americans who hurry by on their way between national parks.

We are a short detour between Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park in the heart of Southwestern Montana.

The road is paved to our front gate and we are only a few miles off one of Montana's most popular scenic drives, the Pintlar Scenic Route on old Highway Number 1 between Anaconda and Drummond.

Gem Mountain is situated between Butte and Anaconda and Hamilton on Route 38, the Skalkaho Road. Six miles south of Philipsburg turn from Highway 1 and drive 16 miles west. Look for our signs. Turn and cross the small bridge over the West Fork of Rock Creek into our parking corral.
